Advanced Dungeons and Dragons is a darker, more dangerous Sword and Sorcery edition of the D&D game.  The Temple of Elemental Evil is one of the greatest campaigns that system produced. Played as it was originally conceived and intended to be experienced, it is a serious challenge.  We are a regular Saturday night D&D group looking for new players to the classic Advanced Dungeons and Dragons experience. You will be facing the original Temple of Elemental Evil module. The rules of the system will be taught through playing the game.  If you are new to roleplaying, or looking for a darker and more challenging version of the game, we would love to have you along for the journey.

New players are absolutely welcome!  This is a great place to start. We can help with accessing the basic rules to play. Play in a Campaign Braunstein where most of the Patrons are played by actual players and dozens of other players roam the map Basically like a pencil and paper MMO. This isn't an idea, this is already happening and it's a blast! The book keeping is online for your character, play can be in person if you are in the local area near North Grand Prairie TX. What kind of player am I looking for? - Probably not the best place for someone who can't handle a dash of male gamer culture. - If you can be kind and are here to game, it doesn't matter who you are, I want to game with you. - The game requires a lot of adult maturity and stability.  Very mature and adult themes.  Players have total autonomy when acting play-by-post including up to trying to bed the Baron's wife (without the details and florid writing), assassinating other player characters and making deals with demons. - Players need to have an open mind, this is a Braunstein.  It's a major, dimensional leap forward in how an RPG campaign works and destroys some of the “sacred cows” of RPG gaming.  I do not promise the outcome you want for your character, I do promise that those engaged will have open to them a vibrant and truly living world where it's elements are driven by players more than DM fiat, I do promise the seemingly impossible: total player autonomy. (Online sessions are recorded and in person pictures are taken of the event to share.  No one needs to consent to having their picture taken though just let me know in advance, and for online you may have your video off and go by a handle.  Video is preferred, it helps!) I'm running a short multi-session Old School Essentials game. One dungeon with three groups of player characters competing to explore and loot it, playing on different days of the week - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. No prior knowledge of how to play Old School Essentials is required, but you can familiarize yourself with the basics with the free Basic Rules pdf https://necroticgnome.com/products/old-school-essentials-basic-rules, and pregenerated characters will be provided for anyone who wants to use them. The Rules This is a ‘Classic D&D’ game. It is in the spirit of B/X, BECMI, and Old School Essentials, if not completely faithful to those specific rules sets. We will be using a heavily modified version of those rules which I am developing called Delvers and Denizens. There may be a lot of differences and unfamiliar rules, yet as a whole the ruleset is designed to be compatible with any TSR-era version of D&D The Setting The Known World of Dracopolis is an alternate version of the world of Mystara published by TSR. The setting is a ‘gritty’ pseudo-historical parallel of Earth. In fact it is Earth as it was approximately 150 million years ago, with the addition of humankind and fantasy monsters and magic. Each human nation or culture in the setting is drawn as a direct analogy of a real Earth culture such as medieval Constantinople, England during the time of Alfred the Great, etc. Player characters begin as common folk in search of fame and fortune, and if they survive might become great heroes or villains. The Known World of Dracopolis has been continuously run since the mid 90s by a variety of DMs, starting with my father. The very first PCs played by myself and my siblings went on many exciting adventures and founded the Dragon City, aka Dracopolis, along with the Adventurer’s Guild. Those early adventurers were constantly negotiating with assumed ‘enemies’ and establishing trade and military alliances. The current campaign takes place some 30 years after Dracoplois was founded, and the 1st generation are dying out or retiring. It is time for a new generation of Adventurers to forge the destiny of the Known World!

You will play ordinary folk and wandering adventurers drawn into the Wood by coin, duty, curiosity, or desperation. Survival favors caution, clever bargains, and old superstitions as much as iron. Old school dungeon adventure

I would like to introduce you an old school way of playing D&D. System is a modern take on early edition of D&D. It is rules light, so it is simple to run and emphasize is on role play and less about dice and numbers.  Idea is to do dungeon crawl adventure which can expand to multuple sessions or even quests. I would start with a session-0 where I would explain the game a bit more. Introduce ourselves. Have a discussion on our expectations from gaming. And in the end build or introduce characters. What I am hoping my game would provide is: immersion, player choices, risk-reward and funny moments.
