A dark curse has befallen the known world: a wasting disease afflicting everyone who’s ever been raised from the dead. Victims grow thinner and weaker each day, slowly but steadily sliding toward the death they once denied. When they finally succumb, they can’t be raised—and neither can anyone else, regardless of whether they’ve ever received that miracle in the past. The cause for the curse is rumored to be a powerful necromantic artifact, which is located somewhere in Chult, a mysterious peninsula far to the south, ringed with mountains and choked with rainforests. Hello! I'm looking to form a new weekly, long-term group of five to six players on Thursday evenings. The game would start at 19:30 (GMT+2) each Thursday and end at 23:00. Just as it says in the title of this post, I've decided to run the pre-made campaign Tomb of Annihilation, using (as one might expect) the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons. My plan, however, isn't necessarily to keep running 5e D&D forever. If I manage to find a group I’d like to keep playing with after this campaign, I hope we’ll be open to trying other systems as well. What I'm looking for in potential players:
  • A close enough time zone to my own, and a schedule that allows for regular participation in the game.
  • Motivation and commitment to possibly establishing a long-term group.
  • Active participation in the game.
  • Basic social skills and human decency.
  • Comfortably intelligible English.
  • Minimal exposure to this campaign.
  • A decent microphone.
  • 18+ years of age.
New players are more than welcome (experience isn't on the list of requirements), as are those who are more experienced. Tomb of Annihilation is a deadly jungle and dungeon-crawling adventure. The lands of Chult are teeming with danger, from active threats such as dinosaurs and the undead to more common hazards such as disease and dehydration. Character death is a very real possibility, and players should be ready for it. A large part of this campaign is focused on survival and exploration, and I intend to lean heavily into those aspects. My goal won't be to kill your characters, but I won't be hand-holding them either. As is the case with all my games of 5th ed D&D, I have certain limitations when it comes to character creation. Sourcebooks will mostly be limited to everything between the PHB and Xanathar's, with material from later books implemented on a case-by-case basis. Character races are limited at the start, with some options becoming available later in the campaign. Multiclassing is limited and will require narrative justification. If you are someone who is heavily into "builds," you'll likely be disappointed. I like to play into the actual in-world implications of things like character classes, and I do not treat them purely as mechanics to be reflavored as seen fit. I'd describe myself as a very neutral DM. I don't fudge my dice, and I don't like to make decisions based on what would make a good story. Instead, I aim to portray the world based on what would make the most sense. I believe that the "story" of the game is something that emerges from the gameplay. I'm also more interested in what your characters are actually doing at any given moment rather than just what's on the paper. I don't want to hear "Can I roll Persuasion/Perception?", I want to hear what your character is actually saying to the guard or how they are searching the room. But above all, I want to make sure that everyone at my table is having a good time. If this post caught your interest and you'd like to take part in this game as a player, please contact me! In your message, I'd like to see at least your name, timezone, your level of experience with TTRPGs and how you first got into the hobby. Also let me know how familiar you are with this particular campaign, why you'd like to take part in this game and why you think you'd be a good addition to the group. Finally, I'd like to hear a bit about what kind of character you'd like to play or usually enjoy playing. (This might be hard to answer since you don't know the exact details of character creation yet, but I'm more interested in the general ideas than in an exact race/class combination.) Thanks for reading! I hope to hear back from some of you.

TCR is D&D 5e with re-balances to make it more fair and fun. we operate like an MMO, you simply create your character then you can sign up to join any quest. you keep all loot and level up after each quest. You can have multiple characters if you want to try different set up out. We have 13 classes with a total of 170+ subclasses. We have re-worked the races and plan to add more as we go. if we dont have something that your looking for let us know :D We use discord for voice and Foundry VTT for battle maps, rules and character creation. The VTT is heavily modified to be easier to use and more automated so you can focus more on the combat and roleplaying rather than finding stuff in a clustered system. We have a group of active GM's throwing out quests on a weekly basis. Alot of these quests are also part of a larger quest series that lets you delve into more lore and investigations. Short Story Long ago, the land was consumed by war. Cities fell, countless lives were lost, and fear spread as the Avatar, a malevolent force, unleashed demons and monsters across the realm. In time, a band of heroes from distant lands, joined by champions of the realm itself, rose to face the darkness. Through their courage and sacrifice, the Avatar was finally defeated, and peace was restored. Yet not all wounds healed so easily. During the war, one of the dwarven clans, driven by greed and manipulated by the Avatar’s influence, sided with the forces of darkness. Though the evil was defeated, the stain of that betrayal remained. Trust in the dwarves was broken, and many races and rival clans never truly forgave them. Now, in the city of Amber Trees, also known as Amber City, a new chapter begins. To rebuild their honor and restore faith in their people, the dwarves have founded an adventurers’ guild, offering brave souls the chance to take on dangerous missions, defend the realm, and shape its future. Our adventurers arrive in Amber City in search of glory, fortune, and purpose. By taking up the guild’s call, they will not only forge their own legends, but also help the dwarves reclaim the trust they lost and prove that redemption can be earned through courage, loyalty, and deeds. After some time the dwarven guilds regained some of their reputation back with the help of some powerful heroes. They are now sending caravans to the elven and human territories guarded by the new adventurers and you are one of them. ↠Amount of Players recommended for session: 3 or 4 players ↠Type of Campaign: Campaign with westmarch style+ Homebrew setting ↠Game System: 5e 2014 + UA with homebrew rules where we dont have any rules in the books ↠Game Style: more on Combat and less on Roleplay ↠Voice Chat: Required, we will use discord ↠Difficulty of Campaign: easy ↠Experience Level: - Any, everyone is welcome ↠Starting Level: Players will make lvl 1 characters with point buy and do one-shots westmarch style low lvl quests with other random players that are online at the same time as them until they form a stable party to go after the high lvl campaign quests. ↠General Overview of Campaign: After a big war that included many races one of them lost its trust . Have you wanted to try D&D for a while, but keep thinking: “I don't know the rules.” “I'm probably terrible at roleplaying.” “I don't even know how to make a character.” “Everyone else will know what they're doing except me.” Then you're exactly the kind of player I enjoy introducing to D&D. I'm an experienced DM running weekly online campaigns, and a large number of my current long-term players started with little or zero real D&D experience. You do not need to read the entire Player's Handbook before joining. You don't need to memorize every spell, know how every mechanic works, or come in with a 10-page character backstory. We'll build your character together, I'll explain things as they become relevant, and you'll learn naturally by actually playing the game. And don't worry—beginner-friendly does not mean the campaign is watered down. The dice still matter. Your decisions have consequences. Characters can succeed, fail, get themselves into horrible situations, come up with ridiculous solutions, and completely change where the story goes. My games focus heavily on: • Character development • Roleplay and relationships between characters • Player freedom and creative solutions • Exploration and meaningful decisions • A story that reacts to what the party actually does • Helping new players learn without constantly stopping the game • A consistent weekly campaign rather than playing once every few months One of my current players described the experience like this: “The players have freedom, and no decision ever feels like a wrong one. I keep coming back for the DM, the players, and the characters and stories we've told together.” — Remy / Joffarex You don't have to be an amazing roleplayer when you start either. Quite a few of my players were nervous about roleplaying when they first joined. That confidence usually develops naturally once you become comfortable with your character and the group. GAME DETAILS System: D&D 5e / 2024/2014 rules Campaign: Faerun for new players Format: Online Voice: Discord VTT: Roll20 Session Length: Around 3–4 hours Group Size: Around 5 players Frequency: Once per week Price: Session 0, character creation, and onboarding are free. Regular campaign sessions are $20/player Experience Required: Absolutely none Current Openings: 5 SCHEDULING Wednesday, 8 PM GMT+4 / 12 PM ET my schedule is flexible, so if this time doesn't suit you, we can discuss it over a call THE ADVENTURE This is a long-term campaign set in Faerûn, built specifically for a new group. You’ll start as relatively inexperienced adventurers and gradually become involved in larger conflicts, dangerous factions, strange locations, and stories tied directly to your characters. Expect a mix of roleplay, exploration, combat, mysteries, character backstories, and choices that can genuinely change where the campaign goes. This is not a pre-written railroad where you just follow quest markers—the direction of the story will depend heavily on the party. INTERESTED? Send me a message here first with: Your timezone Your general weekly availability Whether you've played D&D before What kind of character, campaign, or D&D experience sounds fun to you Anything you're nervous or unsure about If it sounds like the game could be a good fit, I'll give you my Discord and we can talk properly there before you commit to anything. I care quite a lot about group chemistry, so I'd rather have five people who genuinely enjoy playing together every week than simply fill seats as quickly as possible. Complete beginners are very welcome.
