The city of dreams and dread

Hello there and thanks for taking the time to view this post!  We recently lost a couple of players and I'm looking to fill those spaces with like-minded players . I'm an aging DM who played a lot of systems back in the 90s like 2nd edition AD&D, Dangerous Journeys and Vampire. I've been back into 5th edition in the last 5 years. I love to write stories using my player's backgrounds as my muse.  No, I'm not the best DM but I promise you a good story, and good people. Who are we? * Mature group (30+) * We like RP and shenanigans * We offer a safe and welcoming environment * We are not power-gamers * We run 2 hour sessions every two weeks (though this may change if enough people agree) * We are not rule-bashers. We have all been DM's and support each others Who are you? * Mature and respectful * 21+ * Can do long term campaign * Has a PC and a decent internet connection * Someone that knows that vibe is more important than experience AI DISCLAIMER I have a full-time job and a family so I don't get a lot of time to write. I use a local AI LLM to perform mundane tasks (create a session recap from bulletpoints etc) and I also use Claude to spitball ideas. I do not use AI to generate art and I never used it to generate maps The story, NPC's and all creative decisions are my own and I love fusing the lore of the world with the backstory of my players. If you have any issues with AI (and I totally respect that), this is not the game for you. Campaign Here's a little about the campaign but there will be MUCH more info in the session 0. Of Gears and Gods is a homebrew D&D 5e campaign set in Eberron. Its first chapter, set in the quaint, port town of Moonwatch, is now complete. A band of strangers, brought together by a mysterious device called the Nexus, has survived drug-running gangs, a plot to turn the town's population against the warforged and a cursed crisis that almost turned the citizens into an undead horde. The next chapter is ready, and we’re looking for new players to step in, building characters with us who will shape what comes next. Huzzah!

If you are a fan of myth retellings such as EPIC: the Musical, A Thousand Ships, The Song of Achilles, come sit by the fire. Some notes on the setting: •  The gods are present but distracted — drawing their eye may bring you greatness, or ruin. Or maybe you'll be drawn to the Mysteries instead? •  No prophecy protects you: your choices ripple outward, and could alter canon myths and even the course of the war itself. •  All stories are welcome, this table is LGBTQ+ friendly. •  New to tabletop, Daggerheart, or Greek myth? This table is beginner-friendly. And no Classics degree required, just curiosity. Sessions will be paid through StartPlaying.com, at 25$ per session. About me: - I've been a Dungeon Master for almost 8 years and I have plenty of experience in guiding new players. I prefer Theater of the Mind with minimal VTT support. - Your story will matter and I love a long, narrative background I can weave into the main story. - I do character voices!  - I also do character artworks :D Safety tools: Session 0, Lines and Veils, Consent checklist and X cards. I prefer to be honest in advance: Echoes of Fate draws from real life in addition to myth. Slavery was present in Ancient Greece, as was mysogyny, war and violence. You will be able to challenge these in-game through your character, or ask me to avoid mentioning them and I will do my best to do so.

Hi, we're a group of two looking for a couple more folk to fill out a new party. Thought the game will start by player agreement, not necessarily when the seats fill up. The start time is not fixed yet, but it will be at the weekend. Current plan for the campaign is for the players to wake up without their memories in an ancient floating magical city, ruled by wizards. The city is experiencing its own massive cultural and economic shift as it exists is own version of the medieval period.  The main goals of the game is to figure out the answer to: Who were they before? Why are they here? How can they get home? Who is trying to kill them? Note: I've added a second identical listing, except for GURPS, rather than dnd. Unless I get loads of interest, I'm not running both games - I made two listings to indicate both of us are happy to run under either ttrpg.
