Known by all, loved by many, the most popular and respected Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate in the city's history, a legendary hero and adventurer of years past, Abdel Adrian, also know as Gorion's Ward, is about to give a speech at The Wide - the biggest plaza in the Upper City of Baldur's Gate often used as a marketplace. The occasion for the speech is the Returning Day - the most important Baldurian holiday when people celebrate the return of the famous sailor Balduran from Anchorôme to Faerûn, who brought unbelievable riches from his voyage back to his home village of Gray Harbor some 400 years ago and ordered the fortification of the village and building of the city walls around it, thus founding Baldur's Gate. You are among the spectators, the audience at The Wide, ready to witness the living legend. But something goes wrong. Terribly wrong...
