A Tournament for the Ages

Hello, one and all! I am looking for players to join my upcoming campaign starting at the end of June. Is this campaign for you? - You have prior knowledge and experience playing D&D. The current player group consists of quite experienced D&D players and the campaign itself is more oriented around the assumption that players around the table are familiar with the rules of D&D and have had prior gameplay experience. Newer players are welcomed, but as a DM I would not be able to assist you that much as I am running the game at the same time. - You have a good sense of humor. As the current party has a good chemistry going on, we are looking for players who would enhance that chemistry and the big part of it is humor. We joke around a lot and don't take anything said out-of-game too seriously. I personally have been playing D&D on and off for about 5-6 years now, mostly as a DM. The campaigns focus is going to be more around roleplay and encounters and is expected to run for about a year and take the party from level 0 to level 10. In general, I am 23 years old (male) and currently working in IT; I play a lot of video games (most favorites are turn-based RPGs like Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Divinity: OS 1&2) and am quite a cinephile. Game description: "Since the founding of the Republic of Deregos, its people have embraced a tradition known as the Republic Championship. This annual event serves as a rigorous test to determine the most skilled and capable individuals who will stand as the defenders of the realm. The Republic Championship spans the entire year, commencing with the Opens, a series of preliminary competitions that act as a gateway for aspiring contenders. These initial rounds provide an opportunity for participants to showcase their abilities and prove their worthiness to compete at higher levels. As the competition progresses, the most exceptional contenders from the Opens earn coveted invitations to the prestigious Invitationals. This exclusive stage of the championship brings together the finest warriors, mages, archers, and tacticians, creating an arena where true champions are determined. The Invitationals represent a crucible of skill and strategy, where competitors face increasingly difficult challenges designed to test their limits. It is here that veterans and newcomers alike clash, pushing themselves to the edge of their abilities in their pursuit of victory. From the ranks of the Invitationals, only the most extraordinary individuals emerge triumphant, earning their place in the highly anticipated and climactic Eclipse Tournament. The Eclipse Tournament stands as the pinnacle of the year-long championship and symbolizes the culmination of the Republic Championship. The Eclipse Tournament captivates the entire Republic, drawing throngs of spectators who eagerly anticipate the showdown of the ultimate champions. In this grand spectacle, contestants engage in epic battles, displaying their exceptional skills and indomitable spirits. The champions of the Eclipse Tournament become living legends, their names etched into the annals of the Republic's history. They embody the ideals of courage, honor, and unwavering dedication to the cause of protecting the realm. Their remarkable feats inspire awe and ignite the imagination of all who witness their prowess. Through the crucible of the Republic Championship, the Republic of Deregos discovers its true defenders. The soldiers who emerge from the fires of competition carry the hopes and aspirations of their people, embodying the spirit of resilience, unity, and unwavering determination. They stand as beacons of inspiration and guardians of the Republic's freedom and democracy. As the Eclipse Tournament approaches in the current setting of Year 23 of the 5th Era, the anticipation builds, and the Republic eagerly awaits the revelation of its new generation of heroes who will rise to face the challenges that lie ahead."

Relics of the Old World

Hello, one and all! I am looking for players to join my ongoing homebrew campaign (we are 13 sessions in, but I have a plan to introduce a new character easily). Is this campaign for you? - You have prior knowledge and experience playing D&D. The campaign is more oriented around the assumption that players around the table are familiar with the rules of D&D and have had prior gameplay experience (players who do not have this will find themselves struggling in this game). - You like challenging and mechanical combat. I, as a DM, do not like basic combat encounters that much where the enemies are just walking meatbags without any flavour. With every specific encounter, I try to add some sort of mechanic to make it more challenging and interesting for the players. - You like a world that doesn't only revolve around the party, and you are just one story in a world full of them. For this campaign, I wanna tell a story, a story where you are obviously the main character, but your actions will have consequences upon which you set up a domino effect of events to happen. I personally have been playing D&D on and off for about 5-6 years now, mostly as DM'ing. My DM'ing style is more encounter and story-focused. In general, I am 23 years old (male) and currently studying in Taltech and working in IT; I play a lot of video games (most favourites are turn-based RPGs like Divinity 1&2 and Pathfinder: Kingmaker). Game description: "Welcome to Ozaris, a land of civilization and history where among many city-states resides the great Deregos Republic. Deregos sits in the western part of the continent of Ozaris and is separated by an enormous mountain range from the other nations, and because of this, Deregos has enjoyed a prosperous peace. Deregos is ordained with a lush and tropical landscape and fauna, and the sun shines often and brightly. At the top of Deregos is the city of Luxen, which lies on the western coast of Ozaris. It is the capital of Deregos and the hub of magic and knowledge, with the University of Luxen being its crown jewel. It's the year 449 SRD (Since Remembrance Day). Some time ago, rumours appeared of a new continent being discovered west of Ozaris, and the governing body of Deregos announced that they were employing volunteers to charter and explore the new landmass. While many rushed to venture to the new land, some weren't quite so eager. Deregos has witnessed a wave of unemployment in recent years because of trade embargos set by the other nations. Many citizens took loans to keep their standard of living and thus fell into debt. The governing body gave the people a choice for those in this crisis: become indentured servants to pay their debts or volunteer to venture to Venaris. For one reason or another, each of you has amounted to a pile of debt and is unable to pay. Thus you find yourself standing in line at the port of Luxen, ready to head off for Venaris." If you are interested in joining, then write a little about yourself (age, gender, interests, what you are doing atm (working/studying/etc.) and experience with D&D and whatever else you find interesting). When I receive your email, we'll have a video/voice call and see whether this campaign suits you.

For a Few Gold Pieces More

“A simple job, good payment. What more could one ask for? There is a small farming village on the outskirts of the valley and apparently they have a small goblin problem that needs to be taken care of. Although… it is strange that this sort of a job has such a large payment and that isn’t being taken care of by the local authorities. I guess one doesn’t ask these sort of questions when working a profession like this. And in the end… it matters very little. A job is a job.”
