Very non-canon AU Rime of the Frostmaiden, ongoing
We have been happily playing for over a year and are recruiting because we're losing 2 beloved players to inter-city moves. (How dare real life get in the way?! Unacceptable.) We did not know each other before we started playing but have been extremely lucky with our group so far. Are you our next party member? Please see below and reach out if this sounds like your vibe.
* We play in person every other Sunday at 3pm, in Rågsved (~4 hours). We are looking for someone who says, "yes, that schedule sounds awesome".
* 5E (2024 rules). We are more story+character-driven than mechanics-driven; we have some serious elements in the stories, but our games devolve into laughter and chaos more often than not. (If you are looking for something more serious in either tone or mechanics, I think you might get frustrated by our playstyles.)
* Any English-speaking adult is welcome. The games are primarily in English, though we sprinkle in other languages. Our ages range over 2 decades, more women than men at the moment.
* We are playing an extremely AU variant of Rime of the Frostmaiden (Icewind Dale) - by like the 3rd game, the only thing in common with canon was the names of the towns. So no worries if you are "already spoiled" on the ending - we are deep into homebrew territory.
* Everyone is currently level 11; we're at a good inflection point in the story to bring on new people. The plan is to go up to 20 in order to battle Hastur (with help from Auril and Bahamut, of course). With this, I think it might be a bit rough if you've literally never played D&D before, but by no means do you have to be an expert. (See first point about the table being more story+character driven.)
* We have super extensive notes and would 100% get you up to speed on the (zany) storyline if you are joining the game.
If this sounds interesting to you, please reach out to me!
We're probably looking to add someone for the 1 November game. (Maybe 18 October, but that might be too ambitious.)
