No, today I want struggle- Not neccesarily bad endings or being snatched or taken by the villain, but friction, frustration, etc. I want to sit there counting my gold and silver and actually have to choose between taking a new weapon, or do I stock up on potions because last time nearly killed me? Manage every resource I got, between income, sleep, and time- Even so far as trying to harvest specific bits of monsters because they sell better or going out at specific times for a hunt. I want the small stuff to matter; the quiet math of survival- Choosing party members for stats, abilities, temperament, who to put my trust into. Building bonds and butting heads but trying to keep tensions down without dying. I want to feel a loss of an ally, both in emotion and mechanic. A gap. I want to survive, to have a chance, to struggle but make it out and FEEL when I don't. My immediate feelings are probably obviously fantasy stuff, low magic, that sort- I'm most familiar with DnD5e but I'm MORE than aware that it doesn't wholly work for this. The Year is 2015, a pandemic has broken out and the dead have risen to eat the living. Hey all, me and my buddy found an interesting system and expansion called Mythic Ages which is a faction building game based on a d100 system. We are looking for four more players in order to round the group out nicely. The premise of the ages expansion is almost mount and blade like with you running a faction in a sci-fi world (fantasy races are fine) that has gone through an apocalypse and you get to build up a faction in the ashes of the world. The system states you get a bit of interesting tech to start but for the most part your building civilization back up from the ground up. You will have a player character but the focus is on building up a faction. As for other things I should mention the entire game will be text based on discord. so the only thing required is a device with discord. We can also provide all necessary rulebooks to those unfamiliar with the system (we are pretty new ourselves). Overall we are looking for a game that we can keep going pretty casually when we have a chance via discord text so it will be consistent but shouldn't be a huge time commitment. Some other things to expect is plenty of PVP as it will be a faction based game and they will likely come into conflict with each other so but It will be expected of you to not press these issues beyond the game. As far as the content goes feel free to make evil or cruel factions as long as there is no ERP we will do fade to blacks in such situations. Note from DM: Heya! Thus, in the vein of some of my favourite manga series, I made a very light TTRPG system alongside an original setting and am now looking for able and interested players Inscribed is meant to be a campaign that emphasises quality character interactions, drama and a gritty combat-filled setting populated by many factions, ideals, and personalities. The closest series I could compare it to are Chainsaw Man and JJK. For a little hook, the world of Inscribed revolves around Root Essence, a mysterious particle which permeates the entirety of our universe, yet is only harnessed via a seal present in a minority of the population, acting as a filter to convert root into usable spell energy, the size and purity of said seal being a major source of class conflict for centuries. Initially, Inscribed conflicted with an ancient race of super-beings known as "Dragons", but after the near-genocide of the species, the ever-hungry for power and progress Inscribed leaders turned their might against each other in a massive war that unveiled their hidden world for all the world to see. Said war ended a mere 20 years ago at the hands of a humble child soldier, whose might was enough to quell all sides. Your characters, studying at the newly formed "Lenger Academy for Inscribed cultivation", are known as the "Peaceful generation", the first batch of inscribed to be raised without major conflicts in some time. Ik'Ye'Lakha (Bones of The Ancient Earth) The Cradle of Civilization is a sandbox campaign, set in the paleolithic era of a fantasy world that we usually don't see in D&D Campaigns. Welcome to Rifts End, the portal to the new world.     In Deadlands Noir, the united states is still divided since the civil war. One of the most interesting area is the land in California which couldn't be decided between the North and South forming the California territory. This is where we find Rift's End a boom town turned to a prosperous city. When Las Angeles was a slave town it forced a lot of the population northward. Reaching Rift's End. The town was formed in 1855 and become very big in 1880s with the influx of Asian population and others coming from the east to this prosperous city. Then it goes to where we are currently in 1924, North and South now working together better then ever. They fought on the side of the Triple Entente, and now focus working together on highly internal affairs.     In 1870s wired things began to happen of magic that the mortal world could never have their hands upon. This was from a native american ritual that happened in Montana, to try to prolong the American Civil War to keep the attention off the native american tribes. This prolonged the Civil War to 1873. Which ended in a truce to end hostilities in with slight border changes. The town started to decline in population after 1862. The town sat at a population of 70 odd people in fluxing higher and lower. Until 1874 when Las Angeles was hit by a strong earthquake creating deep crevasses exposing a new kind of rock referred to as Ghost Rock which acts like coal but burns at five times hotter and screams when burned. Then hit by a large tsunami flooding valleys formed by the earthquake ruining a lot of the land that could be used. The south forced a lot of their slave labor into these areas to rebuild the area, these combining factors forced a lot of the population to the north to Rifts end.     Before this a family of eleven entered the small town, Six Males and five females living in a nicer house they made in the middle of town. They live pretty secluded but the head of the family, Frank Porter, made the towns new paper gaining quite a reputation for his Littauer he made. Even making it into the Tombstone Gessate. Which off this platform he advertised Rift's End as a paradise in the west. by 1902 the town reached a population of 60,000. Thew town spans across the coast bringing people form all directions. No less the help of Frank Porter, The King of the Radio Waves.     By 1924, the town has reached a population of 280,000. Somehow the family has found most of themselves in places of power. Frank Porter - Radio host of "Truth Radio." but more importantly now "Late Night with Porter". His late night tv show bringing in all the celebrities around the world. It starts off really normal, like everyday life, but then high magic stuff starts leaking into the world and everything slowly changes. It’s not full fantasy at the start. No castles or dragons walking around yet. Just regular people dealing with weird stuff that shouldn’t exist. Races and Classes are limited. For ancesteries you can pick Human, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, or Halfling or Nephilim but here’s the important part: everyone is still basically human. There aren’t different species walking around. The race you pick is more like how the weird magic in the world affected you. So a “dwarf” is just a tougher, denser person. An “elf” is someone quicker and more perceptive. It’s flavor and mechanics, not actual fantasy races living in town. So yeah, the idea is you all start as normal people with normal jobs, in a normal place, and then things start going very wrong. Session 1 is about surviving that first night and figuring out what kind of person your character really is when stuff hits the fan. After that, we’ll move into the real campaign. Hello! My name is Sam & I am looking to run an Escape from Dino Island oneshot for 3-4 people this coming Saturday - February 21st at 17.00 GMT. Escape from Dino Island is a Powered by the Apocalypse system where things have just gone awry on an island full of dinosaurs. You need to escape the island, but various obstacles stand in the way of success. The system heavily encourages you to flesh out your character during play, mainly by having you tell stories about your past when taking certain actions (with the game providing prompts for stories you can tell). Since it's a PbtA system, there are a series of archetypes/"playsheets" that you can pick for play, and there's a list of moves that define what you can do in-game. This should only take a single session, which should last 3-5 hours. Character creation will be done as a group at the start of the session. Roll20 will be used for a map & for rolling, and Discord will be used for voice chat. Cameras will not be in use. Regarding me, I've been regularly GM'ing for about 9 years now. A lot of that has been D&D, but I've been getting into PbtA over the last year. This will be the second time I'm running Escape from Dino Island. Living World An open world is typically one with multiple story lines and without any primary objectives, Here our's focuses on the potential of ending the demonic threat of Treerazer. It is closer to MMORPGs as there are no character limits and not everyone is working together. It is likely that several characters will often be working against each other. There will be many story paths available to each player, and as they are completed others will take their place. Players can choose to progress whichever story they like or can choose to create their own story. How it works Quests will be posted, and players will need to schedule day/times with DMs and other players in order to go on a quest. It’s the year of our Lord 2177. The mining station Jeremiah VI, on the frozen moon of the second planet of the 289 Hydrae System, needs its resupply as soon as possible and you are the lucky roughnecks who got the job. While at Jeremiah VI, the rusty old starfreighter USCSS Fidanza is to pick up cargo and bring it back to Earth. Jeremiah drills for rare earth metal ore so the trips are regular. If this works out and you make the journey in good time you just might earn a permanent crew contract with the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Grab the supplies at Anchorpoint Station, drop them at Jeremiah, pick up the canisters of processed promethium and then complete the circuit back to Earth where the USCSS Fidanza is due to be decommissioned and stripped for parts. It only requires a skeleton crew and as you are due to be rotated it’s killing three birds with one stone: get Jeremiah resupplied,promethium shipped back to Earth, and the old bucket handed over to the shipbreakers.
