Homebrew Star Wars 5e Campaign

Background: I and a few friends are looking to start a homebrew Star Wars tabletop campaign, this will take place during the clone wars on a custom planet that is embroiled in its own conflict. This will be a semi-serious campaign that is focused heavily on role-play and narrative with themes of resistance, political intrigue, and occasional light-hearted moments. I myself have been regularly playing DND 5e for about 5 years as a player, although I am a bit newer to DM'ing in case that is a dealbreaker for anyone. Technical Stuff: We will be using the SW5e system, an open-source project that is very similar to 5e, experienced 5e players will likely have little trouble adapting. We will play on FoundryVTT using the SW5e mod for ease and voice chat over discord, Mic required, camera is not. LGBT+ friendly and we are only looking for players 21+. Starting Level: 1 Length: This campaign will likely take the better part of a year to complete and I am expecting players to go through levels 1-7 during the course of the campaign. Scheduling: The exact time hasn't been decided yet but I've narrowed it down to sometime over the weekend, will likely go with a poll once the final group is made-up. Sessions are expected to last 3.5 to 4 hours and we expect roughly 90% attendance. I'm hoping for a party size of at least 5 and we do plan to still run sessions if only 1 person is missing. Premise: During the height of the clone wars the galaxy is embroiled in conflict as both the separatists and the republic consolidate as much power and resources as possible to remain the victor in this dispute. Your character's origin and motivations are fully up to you. Your PC and the rest of the party are tasked with a simple job: deliver a high value, confidential package to a trusted source on the planet Nerodia. You will be paid well for both efficiency and discretion, and the payday for this job is too big to ignore. To the average person, not much is known about Nerodia, but to the republic and the trade federation they are infamous as one of the biggest producers of Tibanna Gas, a key source of starship fuel in the war effort. It's also a planet ripe with exploitation that is undergoing its own power-struggle. This story will have themes of hope, resistance, and overcoming insurmountable odds. Final Thoughts: We're looking for people passionate about Star Wars, role-play and narrative. Looking for 2-3 more players in Central Florida, we're practically at the cusp of three counties, Levy, Marion, and Citrus! No set time yet, we can totally get that all planned out! More than likely an evening time campaign (think 6-7pm) A campaign has not been chosen/plotted, though there is homebrew being planned. Her children starve as her skin blanches bone-white, her rivers bleed iron-red, and her valleys and peaks carved out, abscessed and cratered. Left to fester under roaming foreign hands. Each hour the Enemy remains on her shores, seven souls are taken. Since the Accord, countless more have been ground and fed to their bottomless hunger For half a lifetime we have suffered these leeches at our breast. Half a lifetime too long. Brothers and sisters, our Mother cries out for help still. Her voice grows hoarse and ever weary. Will you answer her call with righteous war? Or will her voice fall silent on a coward's ears? — translated from a Khejjaran pirate transmission Every Burning leaves Ash in it's wake. Empires are no different. The skies above Almezár were aglow with cooling embers, amber-pale and baleful as the dusky silhouettes of the sky-cities of the Impérié l'Azhar Sedarié drifted far far, above the din of tumultuous revolt below. It has been 120 years since foreign soles first sullied the Kejjiri-jiim. What began as a fool's failed expedition ended with the world powers learning a land untouched by the Maelstrom existed. A vast, untouched expanse of fertile earth. One only needed the gall to lay claim. Ports and ship-lifts rose where cliffs faces were carved into and incised. Railways penetrated the Black Plateau to better feed the torrential flow of trade exports through the port cities. The earth was hollowed to sate the Empire’s appetite for riches, for industry, for war, for earth, for blood. In time, the Khej were hollowed out or uprooted from their land, too. Almezár was never meant to be permanent. At its best it was a penal colony installed for the express purpose of pushing the Khej into the Badlands, at its worst, a den for criminals, deviants, outlaws and dissidents. Now it stands proud in the wastes, swollen with settlers, soldiers, freedmen and slave alike, and of course the ever-present criminal element that birthed the city, all eking out an existence on earth so razed it no longer bears fruit, all beneath a sky that did not belong to them. Yet during this particular dusk the people sing late into the night. They spill ballads off slurring tongues and bellow from throats wet with wine, for Almezár's High Overseer is dead. And beneath those distant heavens, the Nujh-smoke of war rises from the flickering embers of revolt. Now that the hooks over... Hi, the name's Chrys, Me and my partner Viv are looking to playtest a personal project with some other creatives (that would be you) and see how well the rules hold up and to see if the gameplay is compelling enough to warrant a full write-up and post the system publicly on [itch.io](http://itch.io) or something so people can use in their own PBP games. It'll be a one-shot over 5 session (10 hours max), though if everyone's still interested and willing I'm not against transitioning it into a longer campaign. So what's the game like? Praxis, is a rules-light story engine focused on pushing your characters to evolve and change over the course of a campaign, and hopefully end up with a memorable story you can look back on wistfully. There's elements of deck building, JRPG-style turn based combat and therefore a measure of tactics in Praxis, but overall the rules for this playtest are simple enough to be taught in 10 minutes tops during session zero. Details(AKA:TLDR): It's a 5 session one-shot where you get to play as either insurgents, mercenaries, or gunrunners caught in the chaos of a country on the brink of civil war. You've gots to be 21+ dawg. You'll have to fill out a super brief form at the end of each week and jot down your thoughts/critiques/suggestions regarding the session. Invites are to be sent out on the 3rd of March. Session zero by the 7th. And if all goes well, Session one is set for the 10th. Synchronous sessions will be hosted on Discord, twice every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the 10th-24th of March. Each session will be 2 hours max, at a time (TBD) between 2PM to 8PM GMT. Also, super important. There is a list of themes this campaign will be exploring, so please make sure to read through the first page of the application form before applying. Edge of the Empire Edge of the Empire is an excellent TTRPG which uses a unique dice system to help aid in the story telling. It is part of the larger Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars RPG, a collection of 3 interchangeable and mixable systems, which include Age of Rebellion, Edge of the Empire and Force and Destiny. Set after the Battle of Yavin, at the height of the Galactic Civil War, Edge of the Empire focuses on the outlaws at the outskirts of the “civilized” Galactic Empire. Smugglers, Bounty Hunters, Thieves, Assassins, Frontier Doctors, Settlers and Local Politicians all seek to carve out a life for themselves at the furthest reaches of the galaxy. However even as the Rebel Alliance fights their uphill battle against the Empire, the Empire’s reach continues to grow. Will you learn to coexist with the Empire or hide from them? Perhaps even aid the growing Rebellion? Your group will have to chart the best path forward themselves! The Game: -New Players are welcomed and will be assisted, whether you are new to Roll20 or the Star Wars RPG! -Although the Star Wars RPG uses proprietary dice, its mechanics are often quite intuitive. I am looking to try my hand at GMing, the setting i have is a bit complex but it is a world where the sun is gone, the sun god has been slain by an unnamed assassin; the world is in perpetual night, most of the world is swallowed by a curtain of darkness, shadowy beasts and abominations prowl the countryside, and cults have risen up to preach gospels of death. Mages of arcane nature are corralled and trained to become living batteries for the good of the world while those who flee work towards a solution while being hunted. The Council and the Mages' Enclave have sent their requests for adventurers to aid in their endeavors. This campaign allows you to choose to join up with the Council (the current governing body) or the Mages' Enclave (a group of radical mages and like minded thinkers working while being hunted my mage hunters). The Deep

Explore ancient dungeons in an old world. There are rumors that many treasures and even ancient artifacts found deep below the earth. The tunnels and dungeons maze throughout the underground - perhaps remnants of a long forgotten civilization. The stories of this place are wild and fantastical - a large contrast from the monotony and ordinary struggles of the world above. One thing in the stories is consistent - people call this place "The Deep". I am starting an old school OSR game using OD&D. I am using a slightly customized version of the Chainmail combat system to run the game. So far, the combat has felt fun while also being lethal and tactical. I'm planning on using Chainmail mass-combat rules for overland travel if there are enough troops on both sides. There is no need to know the rules to have fun with it, and I'm available to help create characters as well. We have ran a few sessions so far - the players could definitely use some help in the dungeon as there have been a few deaths so far. It is definitely a dangerous game, but should be a lot of fun! Hi! I co-own a Discord server with a few other people that is run as a westmarch play-by-post campaign. Rather than a standard storyline with scheduled play times and sessions, we have a living world set up that allows people to play their characters how they want on their time. We have options for combat that doesn't risk death but still nets rewards like levels, in-game merit, gold, and magic items, and a guild system for quest postings that you can take on for better rewards and higher risks. We're always welcoming new players and are willing to teach people who haven't played before. We use 2014 5e and accept homebrew requests, with a staff of homebrew authors who can help bring ideas to life that RAW doesn't accomodate, as well as already having an extensive homebrew library available for use. Welcome to the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense(B.P.R.D). On your first assignment, you will be accompanied by Agent Abraham Sapien. He will be assessing your abilities and aptitude. Your case will take you to a small island of the coast of Maine. There is a Cryptobiologist there that is studying a relatively peaceful species. This Cryptobiologist has gone missing. Your mission is to investigate her disappearance, retrieve her research data, secure the creatures that were under her care. Do this, and you will earn your place here at the B.P.R.D Join this spooky adventure in the world of Hellboy as a B.P.R.D Agent or Consultant. This is a long term campaign in which the players will join a squad whose mission is to travel the countryside investigating strange occurrences as they pop up... and they're popping up more and more frequently.
