Looking for Players – Tabletop Roleplaying in Penrith area
I am running an in person RPG game in Askham, near Penrith, and I’m looking for a few more players to join us.
If you’ve never played before—no problem at all. New players are very welcome, and we’re happy to teach everything you need to know.
🧭 What is this game?
We play currently a fantasy roleplaying game using the Shadowdark system, in future may be some campaigns in different settings . Think of it as collaborative storytelling:
You create a character (like a warrior, rogue, or wizard)
I describe the world and situation
You decide what your character does
Dice rolls help determine what happens
The rules are simple and mostly stay in the background—the focus is on creativity, problem-solving, and having fun together.

In-person sessions hosted in Askham, near Penrith (Cumbria, UK)
We play at Penrith tabletop gamers club nights

🕒 Schedule
Group meets fortnightly on Fridays
Sessions usually run 18:15 – 21:30
Next session 12th June 2026 (can work offsets from thus point)
👥 Current Group
A friendly group of around 3 regular players + GM
Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere
🎲 How it works
Open table format: You don’t need to attend every session
The game world continues even if you miss a session
Characters typically start at level 1–2 (or just below the current group)

The first session is free, following sessions cost £4 to cover hall hire.
